Who doesn’t want an extra ten years of life? Surely the most agonising aspect of the gift of life is that it ends. We’re mortal and so far science hasn’t come up with a way of making that optional. Whether or not we like it, whether or not we can get our heads around it and whether or not we can even make peace with it, we’re not here forever. There’s no magic wand, but new research has discovered that five habits can help us claw back an extra decade. An expanded, augmented life expectancy is no small thing, so it’d be madness not to look into it and see just what it is that the scientists are saying. All the while, of course, regular gay massage and other relaxation practices can really help your overall wellbeing, so remembering to treat yourself to a weekly or twice-weekly treat is vitally important.

Before anyone scoffs at the research, it’s worth noting that it’s been carried out at Harvard and cannot therefore be dismissed easily. These researchers are the real deal and the gold standard. And what they’ve found is that all anyone need do is adopt five habits. These lifestyle changes, can, it would seem, give women an extra 14 years and men a 12. That’s nothing to turn one’s nose up at. Of course, you’ll have guessed what some of the measures are, but let’s go through them. In no particular order, they’re: eat healthily, take exercise, stay at a healthy body weight, don’t drink excessive amounts of alcohol and stop smoking. The good news is, you’re probably already doing one or more of them, so pat yourself on the back. It’s not that any of these habits is something we didn’t already know. But it’s newsworthy because the Harvard study actually proves just how effective these steps are in combination with each other.

A healthy lifestyle is just around the corner

The study also concluded that people with healthy lives were over 80 per cent less likely to succumb to cardiovascular disease and over 60 per cent less likely to die because of cancer than their peers who didn’t not adopt a healthy lifestyle over a thirty-year period. Yes, that’s right. This is a thirty-year study, so the results are meaningful. These are not extrapolations from a one-year study, as is so often the case with research.

Tantric Soul can always help you feel a lot better!

Whether or not you look after yourself with an existing regimen (possibly including gay massage London), it’s well worth checking that list to see if there’s room for improvement. The Harvard research has been published in the health journal, Circulation. It took 34 years and involved nearly 80,000 women and 45,000 men. The healthy ones were 74 per cent less likely to die prematurely. If you’re not sure how to interpret the healthy measures being advised, then drinking moderately was gauged at roughly one small glass of wine a day.
If you’re 50 now and you adopt these healthy lifestyle measures, you can expect another 38 years of life. If you don’t, you’ll get just 26. Life is precious and although, of course, it brings times of grief, even horror, it also brings us immeasurable beauty. Who wouldn’t want that extra 12 years?
