It’s something that many of us have suspected for some time, but now a new study could prove it; our jobs make us gain weight. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come up with the idea that being desk-bound makes us pile on the pounds, but now there’s real evidence. CV-Library, the job-search website, is behind the new study, which found that practically a third of workers say that aspects of their working life have left them heavier. Of course, a little bit of extra weight isn’t a health crisis, but for some of us, a little extra is a little too much and we’d be happier at our optimal weight and not a pound more. The research involved over a thousand participants, some of whom may well attend regular gay massage sessions as part of their overall wellbeing package. A whopping 75.7 per cent of subjects said that the extra weight they put on because of their jobs has left them less happy.
It’s not easy balancing work, a social life and exercise. Working full-time makes it hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and then there’s the fact that colleagues will often come into the workplace brandishing piles of mince pies (at Christmas) or chocolate (at Easter). All of this has an impact on our eating, our ability to fit in time at the gym and our waistlines. Managing to get to the gym three times as week becomes beyond us during times of intense workloads and deadlines. Many of us have sedentary jobs and it’s no wonder we put on weight as a result. Fitting in relaxing treats like gay massage is also not always easy, yet evidence exists to suggest that if we practise relaxation, we will find it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
The study went on to document the various reasons that people think their jobs impact their weight. First and foremost was, of course, the sedentary nature of the jobs, with over 50 per cent of subjects naming this as the main reason for their weight gain. Additional reasons included not having enough time to visit the gym or exercise, snacking at desks, eating as a response to increased stress and colleagues bringing in fat- and calorie-laden treats for sharing.
The study concluded by recommending various ways that employers could help their teams stay in good condition. These included measures like ‘cycle to work’ schemes and ‘walk to work’ schemes and offering perks like the provision of healthy treats and healthy lunches or gym memberships with subsidies.
If you’re experiencing weight problems because of the way your working life impacts your health, then it’s also worth pencilling in time for gay massage London, perhaps in the evening or on the weekend. Making sure you’re going about life in as relaxed a fashion as possible can make it far easier to adopt a healthy lifestyle. It’s when we’re full of pent-up stress that we can end up reach for the donuts.
