We’re not as fit as we think we are, a recent study reveals. In fact, the shock findings indicate that about 30 per cent of us are unable to go up a flight of stairs without getting terribly out of breath. That’s all it takes. Just a few stairs and we’re puffing and panting like over-walked dogs. It’s not the news you were probably hoping for, but it’s perhaps the wake-up call we all need from time to time. Gay massage in London may be one way in which we look after ourselves, but we need cardio, too. Even just brisk walking instead of public transport could be the answer. It’s not difficult to work that into a busy lifestyle and, before long, you’re ignoring the lifts at the Tube station and taking the winding staircase instead, without breaking a sweat. But there’s more. The study also revealed the astonishing finding that one in ten of us find it difficult to pick up something off the floor without struggling for breath. Then there was the revelation that one in five people feel light-headed during a normal working day, when stress and pressure get to them.
2000 adults took part in the research, commissioned by the British Lung Foundation. You may think that as a regular attender of gay massage London, it needn’t concern you, but the fact is that all of us should look at the results of this study and see where there’s room for improvement in our own day-to-day lives. And we should also keep a close eye on our own levels of breathlessness. After all, it can be an early symptom of a serious lung malady and should not be glossed over or ignored. None of us should become breathless from performing normal, everyday tasks and if we do, then something about our overall health is not quite right. Usually, it’s merely a case of improving fitness. Indeed, over a quarter of the research participants said that they exercised less than once a week. Even more striking, a third of the subjects said that even if their lives depended on it, they would not be able to run a mile.
It’s going to take quite a lot of encouragement to make a change; a tenth of the participants said that they enjoy not exercising too much. Fifteen per cent said they’re prevented from exercising because of an injury. Another fifteen per cent said work left them too tired for exercise. That’s why small changes are often key. If we tell ourselves never to take the lift and always to take the stairs, we’ve made a big change that looks and feels like a little one. It should never take long to get our breath back when we’re breathless, but one in twenty in the study said it took them more than two minutes. Our precious lungs need to be challenged and pushed, so that they’re operating at optimal level. Gay massage is something we can promise ourselves as a reward.
